Visit Santa at Dalkeith Country Park
Santa and his elves are coming to Dalkeith Country Park to give your family an unforgettably magical experience this Christmas 2023. Making dreams come true, our Santa (and we are pretty sure he is the real one) will make sure every child he meets gets plenty of time to tell him their dearest wish, get a free photo opportunity and receive a proper under-the-tree worthy gift.
And to make your Christmas truly magical, Santa has granted all children who visit him a free visit to Fort Douglas Adventure Playground.
Santa's Grotto Dates & Times
*NOW SOLD OUT* Should any returned tickets become available they will be released online.
Santa and his elves will be at Dalkeith Country Park on these dates:
25 & 26 November, 1 – 3 December, 8 – 10 December, 15 – 17 December and 20 – 24 December.
Book online and select the date and time for your visit. One family visits Santa during each magical 10 minute slot and up to two adults and three children can visit at a time.
Book Grotto Tickets
* NOW SOLD OUT* Tickets are priced between £22.50 ~ £25 per child depending on the date you visit. Christmas Eve tickets are £30 per child:
- £22.50 tickets available 25 & 26 November and 1 & 8 December.
- £25 tickets ~ 2 & 3 and 9 to 23 December.
- £30 tickets ~ all Christmas Eve tickets.
Adult tickets are free and up to 2 adults can visit Santa with their children.
Ticket price includes a visit to Santa for you and your family ~ and you’ll have him all to yourselves during your visit. All children receive a wonderful gift, suitable for their age and a photo opportunity with Santa. Please note tickets are needed for all babies and children as they all receive a gift. Your ticket also enables you to enjoy a complimentary visit Fort Douglas Adventure Playground.
Your Visit to Santa
Santa’s Grotto is located in Restoration Yard ~ just follow the signs which will lead you to Santa himself. Please remember to bring your ticket with your QR code on it. This can be on your phone or printed.

Santa’s Grotto is located on the ground floor. If you have any questions re accessibility or any special requirements please do get in touch before your visit. And don’t forget your warm clothes and sturdy footwear as your ticket includes entry to Fort Douglas.
Please note, if you are driving to the park you will need to pay our £3 parking charge on arrival.
