Curiously Creepy Pumpkin Patch

  • All tickets are non – refundable. Where possible, we will try and move your booking to a different date however this is subject to availability and we must be notified 24 hours prior to your booking.
  • If we have to close the patch due to bad weather or stock availability, we will be in contact to arrange a refund or transfer your tickets to a different day.  
  • Only 1 adult ticket can be redeemed against 1 pumpkin. Adult tickets can be redeemed against small, medium and large pumpkins, not baby pumpkins.
  • Pumpkin pickers under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years+ at all times.  
  • Payment of pumpkins will be card only, unfortunately we can’t accept payment in cash.

Fort Douglas Safety Information

While all reasonable measures have been taken to ensure the safety of our visitors and to provide information and warning signs, each adult visitor has a responsibility for their own safety and those of their fellow visitors whilst on site. Please note the following whilst at Fort Douglas:

  • All little adventurers need to be accompanied by an adult (age 18+).
  • Adult-only groups (age 13+) are not allowed in Fort Douglas.
  • You’ll find bathrooms in the Fort Douglas Cabin.
  • Unfortunately dogs are not allowed to go into Fort Douglas, but can enjoy the rest of Dalkeith Country Park. Assistance dogs that have the appropriate certification/collars are permitted in Fort Douglas, but must be kept on lead at all times.
  • The majority of the equipment in this playground is designed to be moderately challenging. Some items may only be suitable for over 5s or 6s (you’ll see a 6+ blue sticker).
  • Big people decide. Only you know the abilities and limitations of the children in your care. Please keep an eye on them and make sure they’re playing safely.
  • Be safe. Keep away from the river banks.
  • Decide on a meeting point in case your group splits up.
  • Please note BBQs are not permitted here, but we have lots of picnic benches.
  • In the event of an emergency, please contact a member of staff or dial 999.
  • Tickets will be available online only for a morning or afternoon session. There are no tickets available on site if you just turn up.
  • You will be able to use your ticket anytime within the AM or PM slot.
  • Tickets will be scanned at the entrance.
  • Tickets are non-refundable except in cases of a Force Majeure Event.

FORT DOUGLAS PARTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Parties must be booked up to 48 hours in advance.
  • Party bookings are non-refundable. We can try and move your booking to a different date however this is subject to availability, and we must be notified 48 hours prior to your booking.  
  • All little adventures attending a party need to be accompanied by at least one adult (age 18+) at all times, in both Fort Douglas and the party room. 

FORT DOUGLAS MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • 2023 memberships have now been launched and 2022 memberships are no longer valid.
  • 2023 memberships are offered to customers who reside in the local EH22 area only.
  • Please bring valid proof of your address when collecting your card.
  • 2023 memberships are valid from date of purchase until 31st December 2023.
  • Members still need to book tickets in advance. Please book online for a ‘member visit’ ticket and remember to click update basket when inputting your membership number.
  • Please bring your card with you on the day as proof of membership, or entry may be denied.
  • The Fort Douglas membership card can only be used by the person it was purchased for.
  • The Fort Douglas membership card is non-transferable.
  • The Fort Douglas membership card does not guarantee entry. On rare occasions we may need to close due to weather or limit numbers on busy days.
  • Free admission cannot be granted without your Fort Douglas membership card. Entry will be charged at the normal rate of admission.
    Dalkeith Country Park reserves the right to change the Fort Douglas membership benefits at any time.
  • The Fort Douglas membership card is not a loyalty scheme and you do no accrue points.
  • The Fort Douglas membership does not include parking – our £3 parking charge will apply for visits to the Park.
  • Adults must accompany their children at all times.
  • We reserve the right to refuse admission or cancel memberships without a refund if anyone behaves in an abusive of threatening way to our staff, contractors or other visitors.

FRIENDS OF DALKEITH MEMBERSHIP TERMS & CONDITIONS

  • Friends of Dalkeith memberships are purchased online and you will be issued with an e-ticket. This will give temporary access to the Park.
  • Once you’ve received your confirmation email please collect your card from the Parking Hut between 09.00 – 17.00 any day of the week.
  • Oak memberships are per car and you will be asked to provide your car registration number when collecting your card.
  • Show your card to receive 10% discount in The Kitchen for up to 6 people. Discount not applicable in other catering outlets or The Store.

Santa's Grotto 2023 T&Cs

  • Your ticket is only valid for the date and time specified on your email confirmation. 
  • One child per ticket. Every child or baby booked at Santa’s Grotto requires a ticket – gifts are age appropriate. 
  • Your ticket enables you to visit Fort Douglas. If you are unable to visit Fort Douglas on the day of your booking then you are welcome to use your entry ticket to Fort Douglas on another date however this must be used before the 25th December.  
  • The maximum number we can accept in a 10 minute time slot is two adults and three children to ensure every child gets the most out of their visit. You only pay for children. 
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless we have to cancel the event.  
  • Presents cannot be exchanged either during or after the Santa’s Grotto experience. 
  • Your child will receive a present deemed suitable for the age given when purchasing tickets. 
  • If you are driving to the park you will need to pay our £3 parking charge on arrival.  
  • If your child has a specific access need please let us know by emailing our team on santa@dalkeithcountrypark.co.uk. 

Breakfast with Santa 2023 T&Cs

  • Ticket availability is limited and bookings will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  
  • Every adult and child attending requires a ticket.  
  • Your child will receive a present deemed suitable for the age given when booking breakfast. Please note Santa’s presents cannot be exchanged during or after the breakfast and cannot be exchanged for cash or returned.  
  • Your ticket enables you to visit Fort Douglas Adventure Playground on the day of your booking and cannot be redeemed any other day. You do not need to make a booking, simply give your name at the Fort Douglas cabin. 
  • Tickets are non-refundable unless we have to cancel the event.

Elf Dash T&Cs

ON THE DAY   

  • Please bring your ticket with the QR code on it. This can be via a printed ticket or mobile phone. If you don’t have your booking confirmation, please don’t worry as we can search for your booking by name.   
  • Registration is from 10am and will close at 10:45am. Please arrive in plenty time to register.  
  • Registration will take place in front of Dalkeith Palace. Here is where you can collect your Elf hat and Santa suit.  
  • If you are driving to the park please note there will be a £3 parking charge which can be paid for on the day via cash or card.   
  • Entrance to the park will be via Town Gate only as Kings Gate will be closed for the event. Town Gate can be found just off Dalkeith High Street, postcode EH22 2NA.    

SAFETY   

  • Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure that you are fit and able to take part in the event and you are aware that the organisers, their employees and volunteers cannot be held responsible for any personal injury or accident as a consequence of your participation in our event.   
  • The Elf Dash 1K is suitable for children age 11 years and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult either participating in the run or from the side-lines.   
  • If you think you need medical attention during the run, inform the nearest Marshal.   
  • Marshals will be wearing Hi-vis vests and will be positioned at regular distances and at road junctions along the course.  
  • Dogs are welcome to take part in the 1K but must be kept on a lead. 

TICKETS & REFUNDS

  • Tickets are non-refundable unless we have to cancel the event.  

Remembrance 2023 T&Cs

• The event is being organised by Royal Scots Museum Fund Trust.

• If you are driving to the park you will need to pay Dalkeith Country Park’s £3 parking charge on arrival.  The car park is located approximately 500m from the Palace.

• The event organiser reserves the right to cancel or restrict the event for any reason in which case we will attempt to contact you.  Where possible, we will attempt transfer your tickets to a different day or time.  It is the responsibility of the attendees to check their emails before arriving at the event to check for any updates and to make sure email addresses are correctly entered when booking tickets.  We will endeavour to update our website and social media sites.
