A Passion for Music

Coming to Dalkeith Palace this summer is A Passion for Music. An exhibition perfect for history buffs, music enthusiasts and families looking for an all-encompassing day out.

The exhibition tour explores Dalkeith Palace’s musical past through artefacts originally intended for Dalkeith Palace, illustrated text panels and a soundtrack of music originally heard at the Palace over 200 years ago.

The Tour & Exhibition

From Sunday 18 Jun to Sunday 03 Sep the exhibition tours will be open for you to enjoy. Take the tour through Dalkeith Palace and experience A Passion for Music – a celebration of the pivotal role played by The Palace in the thriving musical culture of the late 18th century.

Throughout the exhibition tour you will discover the 3rd Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch who gave their children an inspired musical education and made their Scottish home a true salon of the Enlightenment, with leading composers, artists and musicians all regular visitors.

Small group tours will be running at 11.30 and 14.30 on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 18 June to 03 September. Tickets are now on sale at £9.50.
