Volunteering Sessions

Dalkeith Country Park’s natural environment offers many opportunities for volunteering. A walled estate with over 1,000 acres of park, farm and woodland. Home to a huge variety of plants, trees and wildlife, we run a diverse programme for our volunteers. From creating and fixing paths to controlling pesky invasive species, there is plenty for our volunteers to do. Some tasks are quite physical and involve carrying, bending and lifting – all of which you’ll receive training on. The terrain can be rough, muddy and slippery at times, and the weather can be unpredictable, but there’s always a great team atmosphere and amazing sense of satisfaction when jobs are complete.

How to volunteer at Dalkeith Country Park

Volunteering sessions run once a month, usually between 10.30am and 2.30pm on a set day. If you’re new to volunteering with us, we’ll get you in earlier to fill in paperwork and go through some health and safety info.

If volunteering is of interest to you, we’d love to hear from you!
