Where to eat while visiting us? We know what hungry work it can be visiting our park – all that walking, cycling, running and playing can work up quite an appetite. Luckily our friends at Restoration Yard are on hand to ensure you don’t go hungry!
Visit The Kitchen at Restoration Yard –
Situated in the heart of Dalkeith Country Park, is Restoration Yard, where you’ll find our award-winning restaurant, The Kitchen. Set in beautifully restored 18th century stables, The Kitchen offers morning coffee and cakes, and a delicious all day menu. Sit inside or on the terrace to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the estate and historic Orangerie.
Please ensure you pre-book your table to enjoy coffee & cake, lunch or brunch at The Kitchen.
Time to Takeaway?
You’ll also find The Larder located in Restoration Yard, next door to The Kitchen. Offering hot and cold drinks, as well as kids lunch boxes, freshly made sandwiches, cakes and Giacopazzi ice-cream, it’s the perfect stop off during your visit to Dalkeith Country Park. Need to rest your legs? You’ll find plenty of tables and chairs located just outside both courtyard entrances, as well as picnic tables and benches throughout the park.
On busy weekends we also offer takeaway drinks, cakes and snacks from The Horsebox, found opposite the Orangerie on your way into Restoration Yard.
Feed the Little Ones on the go –
If you are visiting our adventure playground Fort Douglas and are looking to keep up the energy levels, The Cabin is situated in the middle of the playground. Offering takeaway hot and cold drinks, slushies, cakes, cookies and ice-cream it’s sure to keep little adventurers satisfied. Adults might be tempted too! Outside school holidays, The Cabin may only be open on weekends.
Bringing a Picnic?
If you’d rather bring a picnic, that’s ok too! You’ll find picnic tables located inside Fort Douglas and also at our picture perfect riverside spot, next to the Orangerie. Forgotten an essential, or looking to add a little something to your picnic? Not a problem ~ The Larder has a great selection of picnic friendly treats.
Please note, at the moment The Coffee Bar is closed, however you can book a table to enjoy coffee and cake at The Kitchen.
