How was your visit?
Launched in 2021, this year 35 modern and contemporary artists, sculptors, photographers and painters are invited to ‘take over’ The Palace. We are delighted to have Anderson Strathern on board as our headline sponsor.
“The Inception Art Show at Dalkeith Palace and Country Park is a much-anticipated event for lovers of contemporary Scottish art so we’re eager to lend our support.” – Murray McCall, Managing Partner at Anderson Strathern.
New this year
Over 10 days art lovers will have access to the artists and their work with an inspiring additional programme of artist-led workshops, curator & Palace tours, an online charity auction and a spectacular evening art & supper event with Richard Demarco and fellow Inception artists.
Inception Exhibitors
For its third incarnation, Inception has invited an inspirational collection of modern and contemporary artists to share their work. We look forward to welcoming Jonathan Freemantle, Frippy Jameson, Hatti Pattison and many others for their third time exhibiting at Inception.
New exhibitors include Danille McLeod, Katy Sawrey, Phoebe Cope, and other exciting new additions.

'Best temporary exhibition space that l have ever experienced. I came to see the work of one particular artist that l know. l was very surprised to discover the enormity of the whole exhibition. What l thought would just be a 30 minutes visit, turned into 2 hour visit. I was very impressed.'

'Having gone with an almost 7 year old grandson it was a wonderfully unfiltered viewpoint and viewing. He loved it so much and filmed lots!'
