There are many hands-on-deck at Dalkeith Country Park. Working together to create a stunning, inviting and exciting place for visitors to enjoy. From our Park team who keep the grounds beautiful, to the events team creating excitement throughout the year, we ensure Dalkeith Country Park is a destination for all to enjoy. Here are a few faces who help make Dalkeith Country Park what it is today.

Sharleen at the Fort Douglas Hub

Sharleen | Activities & Events Supervisor

Meet the happy face that will be ready to greet you on arrival at the Fort Douglas Hub. Sharleen can be spotted across many areas of The Park but her prominent spot is within Fort Douglas.

Sharleen joined the team in 2022 having previously worked in the dental industry. Her favourite thing about working at Dalkeith Country Park is being surrounded by nature but also the wonderful people! Her team is incredibly important to her and the staff here at Dalkeith Country Park make every day special – not that we’re biased!

Ross | Assistant Park Manager

It is a well known fact around The Park that you will most likely hear Ross before you see him! His happy laugh travels far and wide on a daily basis, so it’s a sure thing that Ross enjoys his time here as our Assistant Park Manager.

He and his hard-working team make sure that Dalkeith Country Park looks beautiful all year round. From ensuring paths are safe for the public to maintaining all of the beautiful plants, trees and animals in The Park, Ross is busy every day. He also manages a team of volunteers to help with a variety of jobs across The Park that need an all-hands-on-deck approach.

Add a visit to Restoration Yard to your day out at The Park and you’re sure to bump into the wonderful Abbie in The Store. Having started her career in The Store whilst she was still in school, Abbie has become an invaluable asset to the team and a fantastic ambassador for Restoration Yard. If you’re in need of fashion, gifting or even treat yourself advice, Abbie is your go-to.

Now, if you’re looking at her smiling face an wondering where you’ve seen it before…it’s from Restoration Yard’s Instagram. A keen model in The Store’s reels, Abbie is always willing to lend her acting, styling and humorous abilities to the social media team. See Abbie in action here.

You will most likely see Joanna’s smiling face ready to greet you when entering The Kitchen at Restoration Yard for breakfast, lunch, brunch or even coffee & cake.

Joanna loves working in the surroundings of Dalkeith Country Park, being around nature and away from the ‘city jungle’. She feels privileged to be part of such a friendly team and working in such a lovely place. Joanna’s role sees her look after day-to-day service, staff training and she enjoys learning new things every day.

You may bump into Rebecca out and about The Park, usually with her phone in hand taking lots of lovely pictures and videos for our social media channels. That’s right, Rebecca is the master behind our Instagram and Facebook accounts.

Having been brought up locally, Rebecca loves nothing more than showcasing the peaceful walks, fun adventures and great times that can be had across Dalkeith Country Park. Don’t be shy if you spot her, we love nothing more than featuring our wonderful customers on social media.
