How to Find Your Fun
The choices are endless at Dalkeith Country Park this summer. Family experiences, adrenaline pumping activities, over night adventures and days out to remember. But where will you start? We want to help you Find Your Fun! Let’s take a look and decide where you’ll be heading first this summer.
Fort Douglas
The ultimate destination for family days out. Fort Douglas has options for everyone big and small…even parents! Let your little adventurers escape into the trees in Sky Maze where you can relive your childhood too by joining them as they climb, slide and scramble within its wooden, turreted adventure-fest.
Mini Maze is a littler version of Sky Maze so that those under-five can take their first steps, safely, into mini adventures. Add in the amazing jumping pillows, the ziplines, tunnel slide and scramble nets and Fort Douglas is a one-stop fun zone where energy can be burnt off in the great outdoors. What’s more, adults can go on pretty much all the equipment so the whole family can play together, yippee!

Go Ape Dalkeith
Perhaps you’ll Find Your Fun at Go Ape Dalkeith? An exhilarating addition that joined the Dalkeith Country Park family in 2021. Embrace adventure and take your tribe to a whole new height! It’s not just the grown-ups that can have all the fun. Go Ape has introduced its first Scottish Treetop Adventure course for children over 1m tall.
Which of the courses will you choose? Find out more here and get ready to challenge your comfort zones at Go Ape Dalkeith.
Summer Events
Not only are there incredible attractions, there is also a chock-a-block summer events calendar for you to enjoy. If family friendly music festivals are your summertime happy place then you’re in for a treat. Bringing the very best of the 80’s is Let’s Rock on Saturday 18 June and for a glorious blend of music, art, culture and incredible food choose Out East on 6 & 7 August. The UK’s largest touring cinema – Adventure Cinema – will be returning to The Park from 12 to 14 August as well as the nation’s favourite dog-friendly festival! DogFest will be turning Dalkeith Country Park into a dog and dog lovers paradise on 3 & 4 September.
