Bigger, brighter & more spacious
From January 2026, The Coffee Bar will temporarily close for approximately eight weeks while significant improvement works take place. When it reopens, visitors can look forward to a brighter, more spacious setting, with the size of The Coffee Bar doubling to create a more relaxed and comfortable environment.
The refurbished space will feature additional seating, cosy booths and an extended service area. This will allow our talented chefs to expand the food and drink offering that so many of you already enjoy, giving even more choice for a casual bite or a well-earned coffee break.
A firm favourite
For years, The Coffee Bar has been a firm favourite for visitors looking for a quicker, informal alternative to The Kitchen restaurant in Restoration Yard’s courtyard. Known for its carefully selected teas and coffees, freshly baked scones and cakes, gourmet sandwiches and seasonal soups, the refreshed Coffee Bar will ensure it continues to meet (and exceed!) expectations for years to come.

Alongside the Coffee Bar works, we’ll also be carrying out improvements to the Steel Car Park. This refurbishment will include full resurfacing, the creation of 248 parking spaces and a range of upgrades designed to deliver a smoother, more welcoming arrival experience. This investment highlights how parking charges (introduced in 2021) are being directly reinvested into Park facilities and the overall visitor experience.
These projects mark the first of several planned improvements across Dalkeith Country Park, helping to ensure The Park continues to be a vibrant, welcoming destination for our local community and visitors from further afield.
