Play, build, create, learn!
Get the kids outdoors and away from the screens this Easter with a visit to Fort Douglas. If you’re looking for things to do with the kids during the Easter holidays you’ll find lots of extra activities in this magical adventure playpark, included in your entry fee. The sessions are designed for kids with some parental/guardian help, so be prepared to get (a little) messy. Most of all, HAVE FUN! And remember, we always have coffee up there for the adults for holiday survival mode in our Fort Douglas food and drink cabin.
Easter holiday activities
The sessions will differ every day with something for all ages. No booking required – simply turn up on the day to see what’s on and get your activity wristband. Maximum of 15 children for each activity. The activities include:
Ever wondered how the grown-ups do it? Now’s your chance! Make swords, flowers and more.
Like building stuff? Let your imagination run wild with dried pasta and marshmallows! You can recreate the iconic Sky Maze, Fort Treehouse or Orangerie Zip Wires. Use your imagination – the taller the structure the better.
Easter Forest Faces
Outdoor crafting fun. Using air drying clay you can create your own Groot-face stuck onto a tree. Using the surrounding resources (twigs, acorns and grass) you can make your face as scary or Groot-like as you please.
Using air drying clay you can create your imaginary forest creature or fantasy dragon of your choice, choosing acorns for horns and twigs for limbs. Let your imagination run wild as you create your very own creature. The Squir’ox (Squirrel / Fox ) has been a popular choice so far.
Create your own sailing boat design and see if it floats. Ahoy captain!
Easter Pebble Painting
Choose an egg-shaped pebble that takes your fancy and decorate using paints or felt tip pens. Making sure to tag the rock as yours and you can either hide it in the park for others to find or take it further afield for others to enjoy. Or very simply take it home to enjoy your Picasso inspired art.
Mini Bug Hotels
Using bamboo canes create the ideal home for bugs and creepy crawlies to bed down for the night. You can also learn why it’s important to look after the bugs that we take for granted every day.
