This course is a perfect introduction to the world of foraging, designed to encourage you to get out there and learn more. Featuring a two-to-three hour leisurely walk and a skills-based identification session, you’ll learn the techniques to forage safely and be inspired to do so more.
Coeur Sauvage have extensive knowledge and a genuine passion for wild and medicinal food. They are trusted by the top UK chefs and supply many of them with their foraged ingredients. So, you can be confident in the experience and judgement of your foraging guides.
Foraging Course Dates
These one day courses are running once a month on a Saturday until November. Dates include 14 May, 11 June, 16 July, 13 August, 17 September, 15 October and 19 November 2022.
The programmes starts at 10.00 and finishes at 15.15 each day.
Tickets are £35 per person over 12.
Children accompanied by a guardian are free of charge, but they must remain under supervision at all times. We are sorry, we love dogs, but regrettably they are not allowed on the courses.
The courses offer the opportunity to sample wild food but its recommended that you bring a pack lunch and drinking water. Or you can buy lunch and snacks from Restoration Yard.
10.00: Arrival – Get to know each other, why & how we forage followed by some light refreshments.
10.45: 3 hour guided walk through Dalkeith Country Park, inspecting and gathering specimens of edible plants.
14.00: Bring forth the books. A guided identification session – study the features of the plants found and learn how to recognise them.
15.15: Time to head home
