Artist-led Workshops
Join an eminent artist during Inception, for one week of artist-led workshops. From Monday 8 May to Friday 12 May, these one-week workshops are designed for artists of intermediate ability to learn new skills, techniques and really develop their own practice. Small groups ensure plenty of hands-on, one-to-one tuition from Hugh Buchanan.
Workshops run for one week, daily from 10.00 to 16.00, with an exclusive private view at Inception on Friday 16 May to celebrate the works created during the week. Workshop tickets cost £295.
Hugh Buchanan
Hugh Buchanan’s hometown of Edinburgh instilled a love of architecture that he has continued to develop throughout his career. Hugh’s paintings are shown in a numerous collections including Victoria and Albert Museum, Edinburgh City Art Centre and the National Trust for Scotland.
Hugh’s classes are aimed at artists with some experience of drawing. Classes start with demonstrations of drawing & watercolour techniques. You will then have the opportunity to look for subjects around Dalkeith Country Park that inspire you and put your new skills into practice. You are encouraged to discuss each other’s work at morning ‘clinics’, which many consider to be the most valuable part of the day.
