A grand renovation
Following an extensive renovation project, completed in summer 2023, Dabton house is now available for bookings. With a welcoming blend of country house elegance and modern hospitality, Dabton is the perfect location for your grand gathering or simply spending time together with friends and family.
Throughout the renovated property, contemporary design touches blend with Dabton’s beautiful historic features, while the four-acre formal garden sits amid 27 acres of tranquil mixed woodland.
A haven of space & seclusion
Dabton House is a haven of space and seclusion, with 11 exquisitely appointed ensuite bedrooms and several areas in which to relax and dine. With beautiful gardens and the surrounding Queensberry Estate, this is the perfect location for a luxurious getaway.
And because the difference is in the detail, the friendly and attentive team are on hand to organise your stay, whether you require recommendations on activity days or a personal chef for the duration of your stay.
As a much-loved family home of the 10th Duke and Duchess of Buccleuch and their four children, Dabton House has been restored sensitively to retain the many comfortable shared spaces.
Idyllic acres of formal gardens
With a kitchen garden and heritage vegetable plot, an inviting lawn with paved terrace and barbecue area, along with a secret garden for summer relaxation, the garden is as much a part of the story as the house itself.
Should all the greenery inspire you to discover more, the team at Dabton are happy to arrange a private tour of the gardens with head gardener John who has overseen their complete reconstruction over the last 40 years.
The perfect base for activities
Situated just ten minutes from the historic Drumlanrig Castle at the heart of the Queensberry Estate, Dabton House is the perfect base for exploring the great outdoors.
For the more active, Queensberry Estate is home to miles of way-marked walking, cycling and mountain biking routes, with bike and e-bike hire available on site. Alternatively, book a day’s fishing, try your hand at simulated game shooting, or put your party through its paces with Scottish Assault Courses or a trip to the adventure playground if they are on the younger side.

The check-in and check-out days for Dabton House are Monday and Friday, offering guests a wide range of options for shorter or longer stays including 3 day weekend or 4 day midweek breaks.
