How was your visit?
Sustainable Ice Rink you say?
You heard that right! We’re excited to offer a much more sustainable ice skating experience this winter at Dalkeith Country Park using ‘Glice’ technology.
This means that you won’t be skating on ‘real ice’ but on Glice synthetic ice which requires no fuel for operation, resulting in a zero carbon footprint once installed. Our new ice rink is a great way for families to enjoy the magic of Christmas while knowing that they’re treading lightly on the planet.
And there's more!
There’s nothing that brings Christmas to life more than dancing along to your favourite tunes with friends and family. Every Friday and Saturday night, our ice rink will transform into a vibrant scene where you can skate to specially themed music sessions.
Each ‘Skate & Shake’ session offers a unique musical theme. Get merry to Christmas Classics, sing along to Taylor Swift hits, relive the magic of Disney, or throw it back with 80s favorites. You can even hop in a Time Machine or dance under the glittering lights of our Disco and Mamma Mia nights. There’s something for everyone!
When can you visit the Ice Rink?
The WinterFest Ice Rink will be open for festive fun from 29 November 2924 to 5 January 2025. Sessions will begin each hour, on the hour and last 45 minutes.
Festive Treats Galore
You can’t have a Christmas outing without tasty treats and soul warming brews, right!? Located next to the wonderful Restoration Yard, our Ice Rink will be surrounded festive treats galore.
Pick up hot food to go from The Pink Elephant, enjoy coffee & cake with a view of the rink from The Coffee Bar or recover from your skating session with a lovely lunch in The Kitchen. The options are endless!
