A New Season of Adventure
Autumn has arrived at Fort Douglas, and it’s one of the most magical times of year to explore! The trees are turning golden, the air is crisp and every climb, slide and scramble feels that bit more exciting against a backdrop of autumn colour.
Outdoor Play All Year Round
Just because the days are getting cooler doesn’t mean the adventures have to stop. Playing outside in autumn and winter is full of energy and imagination. The crunch of leaves underfoot, the thrill of conquering the fort and the laughter that keeps everyone warm. Fresh air and outdoor fun are what Fort Douglas does best, no matter the season.
So wrap up warm, pull on your wellies and let the kids lead the way – you might be surprised how long they’ll want to stay!

Autumn/Winter Opening Hours
From Monday 27 October, Fort Douglas will move to autumn/winter opening hours, with one continuous session each day from 10:00 to 15:30.
This change reflects the shorter daylight hours and ensures visitors can make the most of their time exploring and playing safely.

Make a Day of it
After all that adventure, cosy up with a hot drink or a hearty meal in The Kitchen at Restoration Yard. It’s the perfect way to warm up after a morning (or afternoon) of play. We recommend booking a table in advance to make sure you don’t miss out, as our restaurant is very popular, especially on weekends and holidays.
Come and see how much fun autumn (and winter!) can be outdoors – adventure doesn’t hibernate.
