Dalkeith Country Park

A day visitor pass is £1 per person. However, this is refunded if you purchase anything in Restoration Yard or Fort Douglas. You can read some FAQs on our Access Policy here. If you’re a regular visitor to the park, it’s well worth purchasing a ‘Friends of Dalkeith Country Park’ annual pass card which enables access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can purchase these from the Town Gate kiosk which is open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. The prices for these are as follows:

‘Friends of Dalkeith Country Park’ annual pass card prices:

  • Adult Pass: £10
  • Family Pass (2 Adults & up to 3 Children): £20
  • Adult Dog Walker (up to 2 dogs): £20
  • Adult Dog Walker (3 – 4 dogs): £40
  • Adult Dog Walker (more than 4 dogs): £100
  • Adult Pass for Trout Fishing: £30

Passes offer unlimited 24-hour access all year round and are available to anyone aged 16 and over. The passes act as a swipe card when the Town Gate is closed between the hours of 7pm and 7am. Please note this pass does not cover entry to Fort Douglas or any other activities. However, it does give you entry to our other estates – Bowhill House in the Scottish Borders, Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfries and Galloway and Boughton House in Northamptonshire (estate and gardens entry only, not house or castle tours).

Fort Douglas
