Knights, princesses, pirates, adventurers: your fort awaits. Explore the most magical turreted treehouses, suspension bridges, slides, climbing walls and secret tunnels of this brand new playground. Fort Douglas has two amazing play zones: one that’s perfect for children up to the age of five and another for six to twelve year olds. Sorry grown-ups, the equipment is for kids only, but we do have coffee up there in Restoration Yard and our gorgeous new kiosk (with bathrooms too). Let the adventures begin.

Your quest begins at the entrance to Fort Douglas over the River Esk. Here you’ll find a kid sized tunnel that runs from one side of the bridge to the other. And once you’ve entered the playground, there’s a whole range of equipment to swing from, slide down and balance on. Not forgetting the incredible treehouse, complete with stairs, tunnels and rooms to explore. There’s also an amazing accessible roundabout (and swing coming soon), plus a toddler area featuring a wooden carved duck family, swings, miniature train and smaller treehouse-style den and more! A new generation is about to have a whole lot of fun. Please note that unfortunately dogs are not permitted to go into Fort Douglas. You can read all the terms and conditions here (sorry, they’re a little dull).
