Youngsters get crafty

26th July, 2018

Lucas Ball and Kiki Griffiths (both aged three) tried their hand at some of the activities on offer at the craft den in Fort Douglas, Dalkeith Country Park.

Youngsters can take part in a variety of daily activities including mini bug hunting, pebble painting, kite making, creating your own bird feeder, paper boat making and sailing, mini bug hotels and den building throughout the summer holidays.

Julie Merrilees, Visitor Services Manager at Dalkeith Country Park, said: “Our fabulous selection of activities is guaranteed to keep children busy throughout the school holidays.

“Activities will be different each day with lots to inspire youngsters to let their imaginations run wild and help them develop various skills.

“There’s no need to book in advance and the craft den can be enjoyed at no extra cost upon entry to Fort Douglas.”

Families can also enjoy special weekend entertainment at the Park with circus skills taking place on 28th and 29th July and paint and play workshops on 4th and 5th August.

Fort Douglas opening hours have also been extended to 8.30pm during the holidays with the last admission at 7pm and off-peak entry prices from 5.30pm onwards.
