Yoga is a set of physical exercises (known as asanas or postures) designed to align your body. In our physical bodies we develop strength and flexibility. However we also learn to balance the mind by bringing our attention to our breath.
‘Yoga’, from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind and is often interpreted as a ‘union’. Hatha yoga literally translated is ‘ha’ meaning ‘sun’ and ‘tha’ meaning ‘moon’, referring to the balance of masculine and feminine.
If you’ve always wanted to give yoga a try but have been apprehensive about what to expect then this is the class for you.
Kirsty’s classes are for everybody and for people of all ages. Most importantly you don’t need to be flexible to participate. If you’re expecting to be putting your foot behind your head then you’ll need to look elsewhere for a class!
The classes are designed to introduce you to yoga practice in a relaxed & safe environment & we hope you’ll leave feeling stretched, relaxed & happy.
